Hola chic@s,
We’re back with another 🧭.
Today let’s focus on a pattern that helps you speak with more flow.
🧭 AL + infinitive
This structure means “when doing…” or “upon doing…”
e.j Al llegar a casa, me duché
When I arrived home, I showered
e.j Al escuchar la noticia, se puso a llorar
When she heard the news, she started crying
‘Al’ = ‘A’ + ‘el’
It introduces a trigger moment.
As you can see in the ejemplos, something happens and something follows.
English says:
“When I arrived…”
“When she heard…”
But Spanish condenses this into something smoother.
It removes bulk and creates rhythm.
It makes your Spanish feel ‘lived-in’ instead of translated.
Try it in conversation.
Notice how it lands.
That small shift does more for your confidence than another streak ever will.
Here’s a free worksheet for the taking 👇

Share it around.
Print it out and plaster it on street lamp posts.
Do whatever you must to get more people speaking Spanish.
Un abrazo grande,
